Greetings...from my home office to yours!
How many times have you fired off an email in the heat of the moment, and then
regretted it the moment you pressed "send"? By then its too late as you watch
helplessly as the email flies through cyberspace into your recipient's email box.
I have learned in both my personal and business e-correspondence the hard way to
never -- I mean NEVER -- reply to an emotionally charged email the minute I get it.
I will often compose an email (and not put the recipient's email address in it to
avoid accidentally sending it) and put it in my "drafts" folder. I then stew and read
it over and give myself at least an hour or more until I calm down. More often than
not, I don't send my original email, but a toned down more professional version. I
think it has saved a lot of friendships, and clients!
