Success at home index: (1-starving, 10-fabulously wealthy)  7

What kind of business do you have at home?
I sell educational, award-winning, non-violent, fun, safe, and versatile toys, books,
games and music and movement products.

What did you do before you started a home business?
I was a commercial loan officer; and I owned a home-based bakery.

What was your biggest challenge in starting your home business?
Balancing work and family.

What has been your biggest challenge staying in business?
People have become so busy, it is sometimes a challenge to reach people.

What do you love about working from home?
I LOVE being home when my teens are home and spending time with them,
especially as they were growing up.

What do you dislike about it?
It sometimes is hard to see what needs to be done around the house and not do it
while I am working.

How do you do to inspire or motivate yourself everyday?
I am self-motivated.  I  love what I do and look forward to working each day.  I read
motivational/inspirational books, articles, quotes, listen to CDs and talk with my
biz buddy, Michelle.

How do you separate home life from your work life?
I have office hours and a separate office.

How do you keep family/home/work
all in balance?
I usually stick to my office hours so that
when I am not working, I am focused on
my family and other activities.

Where is your office in your home?
It is a converted spare bedroom.

What is your daily routine?
I get my family breakfast and off to school/work, check my e-mail, call my biz
buddy, Michelle, for inspiration,  support and friendship, then get on the phone.

What is your biggest (or proudest) achievement so far?
I have earned 7 incentive trips, President's Club 2X,  and All Star award several
times!

What are you working on right now to grow your business?
Finding new and innovative ways to reach future team members, hostesses and
customers.

What advice can you give about starting a home business?
Never give up!  Find a buddy.  Set a schedule and stick to it.  Don't take "no's"
personally.  Give it time.

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do (or not do)?
I would have jumped in and stretched out of my comfort zone immediately rather
than playing it safe, at the beginning.

What do you do for fun when you're not working?
I love to have fun!  I love being active; skiing, walking, biking, swimming, playing
badminton .... I also love spending time with my family, playing games, going out
to fun places, traveling and walking.  I also enjoy reading.
